Hope from within — a foundation led by Haitians, transforming Haitian lives

Our Story, Our People

Established in 2023, the Children’s Village Foundation and Cares (CVFC) began with a simple idea: every child deserves safety, education, and hope. What started as a local effort to feed and shelter children in Cap-Haïtien has grown into a U.S.-registered, Haitian-led nonprofit foundation dedicated to rebuilding lives and empowering families across Haiti.

Today, our team works hand-in-hand with local leaders and volunteers to meet urgent needs and build sustainable programs that create lasting change — ensuring that every initiative is rooted in trust, transparency, and community strength.

Who We Are

CVFC is a collective of compassionate individuals — educators, parents, health professionals, and community members — united by a single purpose: to restore opportunity where it has been taken away. Our work is fueled by faith in people, not just programs.

  • Founder

Born and raised in Cap-Haitien, Haiti, Mrs. Yanick Jean Baptiste founded the Children’s Village Foundation out of a deep concern for the growing hardships faced by children in her homeland. On her visits back, she witnessed the heartbreaking realities of poverty, exploitation, and lack of opportunity affecting countless minors.

Determined to make a difference, she created the Foundation to provide a safe haven where vulnerable children can access shelter, education, and care. Her mission is to protect and empower Haiti’s youth, offering them hope and a path to a brighter future.

  • Cofounder

Jacky Pierre, born in Plaicanse, a city in northern Haiti, serves as the Vice President of the Children’s Village Foundation and Cares (CVFC). From an early age, Jacky carried a deep desire to improve the lives of Haiti’s children, believing firmly that they represent the nation’s future.

Moved by the harsh conditions many children face, he long envisioned creating an organization dedicated to their well-being. That vision took shape when he met Mrs. Yanick Jean-Baptiste, who shared the same mission and determination. Together, they established CVFC to build a brighter, more hopeful future for generations to come — a reflection of Jacky’s belief that true progress happens when people work together.

  • Treasurer

Wilkair Fégond is an experienced professional in Communication (Journalism and Marketing) and Information Technology (IT). Over the years, he has held numerous leadership positions across both the private sector and public administration.

He has worked as an entrepreneur, designer, and host of several radio programs, notably on the airwaves of Radio Vision 2000. Currently, alongside his professional activities, he serves as the Treasurer of the Children’s Village Foundation and Cares (CVFC).

Two key factors motivated his decision to join the foundation. First, the nature of this just cause — giving children in difficult circumstances the chance at a better future. Second, the remarkable character of the foundation’s principal founder, Mrs. Yanick Jean-Baptiste, whose dedication and integrity inspire trust and commitment.
