FAQs
What is the Children’s Village Foundation and Cares (CVFC)?
The Children’s Village Foundation and Cares (CVFC) is a U.S.-registered, Haitian-led nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in Haiti. The foundation provides access to education, nutrition, clean water, healthcare, and safe community spaces.
Operating from Cap-Haïtien and surrounding regions, CVFC ensures that every program is locally driven, transparent, and sustainable — empowering Haitian communities to build a stronger future from within.
Who runs the foundation?
CVFC is run entirely by Haitians who live and work in the communities they serve. The organization was founded by Mrs. Yanick Jean-Baptiste and Mr. Jacky Pierre, who share a deep commitment to creating lasting opportunities for Haitian children. This local leadership ensures that every initiative is culturally informed and directly benefits the people of Haiti.
How does CVFC use donations?
Every donation directly supports essential programs:
Education: Scholarships, school supplies, and daily meals for children.
Health: Clean water, nutrition, and healthcare support.
Safety: Safe spaces and protection programs for at-risk children.
Community: Family workshops, leadership training, and events that strengthen local unity.
CVFC is committed to transparency — funds are used efficiently to create the most impact possible.
Is CVFC a registered nonprofit organization?
Yes. CVFC operates as a registered nonprofit foundation, following all United States & Hatian legal requirements and international standards for nonprofit accountability.
Can I volunteer with CVFC?
Yes! CVFC welcomes volunteers both in Haiti and abroad. Opportunities range from teaching and health support to fundraising, translation, and remote assistance. To learn more, contact us through the Contact Page or email yanick@cvfchaiti.org.
How can I donate?
You can make a secure donation through the Donation Page on our website. All major credit cards and online payment options are accepted. You can also choose to become a monthly supporter, helping children and families receive continuous care throughout the year.
Where is CVFC located?
Our main facility is located on the outskirts of Cap-Haïtien, in northern Haiti. This location allows us to reach some of the most underserved communities in the region. We also have an office located in Brooklyn, NY.
What makes CVFC different from other organizations?
Unlike many international charities, CVFC is entirely Haitian-run. This means programs are designed, managed, and implemented by local professionals who understand the culture, language, and challenges firsthand. This grassroots approach ensures that support is both effective and empowering.
Can I sponsor a child directly?
CVFC does not offer individual child sponsorships at this time. Instead, we use a community-based model — your support benefits all children within a school, program, or village, ensuring fairness and shared progress.
Are donations tax deductable?
Yes. The Children’s Village Foundation and Cares (CVFC) is a registered nonprofit organization in the United States. All donations made through our official channels are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by U.S. law. After donating, you’ll receive an email confirmation and receipt for your records.
How can I contact CVFC?
